Summerfield Homes Helps Re-House Bode the Bobcat

Somerset housebuilder Summerfield Homes is proud to support Tropiquaria Zoo in Watchet with a £500 donation towards the smart new enclosure for Bode the bobcat, a member of the Lynx family.

Tropiquaria rescued Bode after his former owner was convicted of animal neglect-related offences. Originally the idea was for the Somerset Zoo to provide temporary respite for Bode but the staff fell in love with him.

The problem was that Tropiquaria did not have any suitable accommodation for Bode, so a fundraiser was launched, and Summerfield agreed to contribute. The finished enclosure is complete with a pond tailored to meet Bode’s requirements.

Visiting Bode to see how he was adapting, Philip Morgan, sales and marketing director at Summerfield Homes said: “As house builders, we know how important it is to feel at home and are pleased to have played a small part in making this happen, we wish Bode well in his new home.”

“In addition to building family homes in Watchet we are also committed to supporting the local community. We are aware of the role Tropiquaria plays, bringing all different generations together to visit and enjoy as well as to be educated and entertained. We are happy to give our support.”
