Developing ‘Skills for Life’ at Summerfield Homes

Summerfield Homes is pleased to celebrate National Apprentice Week with Miles Broughton at Carrots Farm, North Petherton.

Miles, 20, who is studying at Bridgwater & Taunton College, joined Summerfield Homes in September 2022 as an apprentice assistant site manager. During his time with the business so far, Miles has been given the opportunity to work across all live residential projects, allowing him to develop his skills alongside a variety of different site managers.

Miles is currently based at Carrots Farm, North Petherton working alongside award winning site manager Clive Linham, Site Manager for Summerfield Homes. Clive has worked within the construction for over 40 years and his industry knowledge provides a solid foundation for Miles.

The theme of this year’s National Apprentice Week is ‘Skills for Life’ and Miles says working for Summerfield Homes has made him more confident as a person and feels that the business is invested in his future career. He added that he looks forward to coming to work every day in a supportive environment.

Simon Gamlin, Divisional Director Construction / Health and Safety said “It is important to understand the positive impact that apprenticeships create for individuals and businesses. Miles is bright, driven and keen to succeed, he has been an excellent addition to the team, and we look forward to further developing his career over time.”

Ed Khodabandehloo, Managing Director at Summerfield Homes added “Having Miles working within the business under the mentorship of Simon and his team will give him a great platform to have a successful career within the housebuilding industry for many years.”
