South West-based supplier of powered access machinery and training specialist, Prolift Access, is expanding its regional operations with a move to purpose-built premises in Somerset.
Prolift, which has four existing depots covering the South of England, has relocated its Somerset and Devon branch to the new-build replacement headquarters facility at Westpark 26, the mixed-use business park in Wellington.
The new facility totals 8,800 sq ft including a first floor mezzanine office of 1,650 sq ft. It was designed and built by property developer, Summerfield, and is occupied this month (July 2015).
The new-build will provide a warehouse and storage facility, a workshop area, and a fully-fitted office and canteen for the staff due to be based in the headquarters. However, Prolift has confirmed plans to grow the business further across the South West and South Wales regions and expect to be employing in the region of 55 staff towards the end of 2015.
Summerfield’s designs for the new occupier have incorporated a large service yard for storage, circulation and parking of Prolift’s wide range of powered access machines, which include cherry pickers, scissor and boom lifts and other powered access aerial platforms.
The striking exterior of the standalone facility is clad with contrasting grey and yellow elevations and is situated in the fourth phase of the rapidly developing 50-acre business park in Wellington. The site allows staff easy access to a range of facilities on site including a petrol filling station, Budgens mini-supermarket, Costa coffee and Subway outlets.
There has been a recent surge in demand for space at Summerfield’s business park and Prolift are the latest occupier at Westpark 26, which offers a wide range of industrial, office, storage and trade counter units from 713 sq ft to 100,000 sq ft to suit a variety of requirements.
To date, three buildings providing 40 terrace employment units have been completed at the park with the fourth, Block Z, completed with 15 of its 18 units now sold.
