Love Your New Home

During the week that celebrates Valentine’s Day, local property developer Summerfield is offering homebuyers expert advice about how to personalise a brand new property with a special ‘Love Your New Home’ open day at its show homes in Minehead.

Summerfield is hosting the event at its College Gardens site in Bircham Road, Alcombe to give homebuyers detailed help and advice about how to get the most from a brand new home when it comes to customising their property.

Every buyer of new Summerfield home has important choices to make concerning the finishing details to their property including interior colour schemes, flooring, carpets, curtains, blinds and external landscaping features. At the Love Your New Home open day, Summerfield’s sales team and interior design consultants will be on hand to give advice about how to approach these decisions and create a stylish home with long-term lovability.

The agent for the new homes Wilkie May & Tuckwood will be joining the Summerfield team with their financial advisor at the event to give detailed information about the Government’s Help to Buy initiative for which all the homes at the College Gardens site qualify. This is a scheme that enables buyers – whether first time buyers or existing homeowners – to purchase a brand new home with a 5% deposit and a 75% mortgage. The agent will also be on hand to help advise people who are looking to sell an existing property.

The Love Your New Home open day takes place at College Gardens on Saturday 15 February, from 10am to 4pm, with ample opportunity for attendees to view the show homes on the development over complimentary refreshments.

“Buying a new home is a big and exciting decision and sometimes people forget that, once bought, there are a host of decisions that need to be made about how your new home will ultimately look and feel,” said Richard Nicol, Divisional Sales Director for Summerfield.

“It’s important to think very carefully about how a new home should be finished to get the look and feel absolutely right. At Summerfield, we are passionate about guiding buyers through this decision making process and helping people make the best choices to suit their lifestyle.”

Richard added:

“The open day at College Gardens is also a fantastic opportunity to learn more about how to buy a new Summerfield home with the Help to Buy scheme, which is undoubtedly boosting prospective homeowners’ ability to buy. With the right information and advice, there is a real opportunity to be in a new home in time for Easter. Now is a great time to buy!”

The College Gardens scheme is well situated in the popular residential area of Alcombe and offers a choice of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes with prices starting at £155,000. In line with Summerfield’s usual high standards, each property has been designed specifically to complement its setting, incorporating traditional style with character features typical of the local area. A mixture of property types are available including detached and semi-detached houses, terrace homes and coach houses.

All of the properties on the site will be built in a sustainable way, with double-glazing and gas fired central heating to ensure energy efficiency. A ten-year National House Building Council (NHBC) warranty will be offered on all properties.
