OUTLINE PLANNING APPLICATION

The outline planning application plans will show the location and size of the proposed residential site and the proposed means of access to the development.

All other matters relating to the detailed site layout and the design and external appearance of the apartments will be reserved for consideration by the Local Authority as part of a future planning application.

ILLUSTRATIVE DESIGN

The illustrative site layout has been prepared to show how we would envisage the site being developed and the illustrative apartment plans show the type of affordable accommodation that could be provided, if outline planning approval is granted.

The proposals show how a new access road, with full visibility for emerging traffic, can be provided from Cheddon Road to serve the development.

The site layout is based on the concept of providing compact blocks of apartments that are set around landscaped parking courts which are easily accessible to residents and are overlooked to provide a secure environment.

Each apartment block is served by an individual entrance hall and staircase which provides access to five apartments at each floor level. We envisage a height of thee storeys for the development and the use of facing brickwork and render for elevations generally with some feature timber boarding and tiled roofs to reflect the materials already used in the locality.

The scheme incorporates the provision of new structure planting to strengthen existing hedges and to form new substantial hedges and tree groups along site boundaries to fully enclose the development.
