Work has started soon on the new 40 acre business park at Chelston, Wellington. It has been named Westpark 26.
The new business park is being developed by the Taunton based company, Summerfield Developments, and is only half a mile from Junction 26 of the M5. Westpark 26 has received planning consent for a range of uses including a pub/hotel, industrial and distribution units, car showrooms, a crèche/doctor's surgery/veterinary centre, plus trade counter units and offices.
Tim Western, of lead marketing agents King Sturge said this week: "Westpark 26 represents a massive opportunity for local, regional and national firms to operate from a high quality business park with excellent accessibility to the motorway network. This will allow companies to effectively distribute their product and draw from a large labour catchment.
Summerfield Developments has committed to the initial multi-million pounds worth of infrastructure works and will also be constructing Phase One of the scheme, which has been branded the 'Enterprise Zone'.
This zone will include light industrial and distribution units of a range of sizes from 65 m² (700 ft²) to 279 m² (3,000 ft² ). Agents Alder King and Greenslade Taylor Hunt are also instructed on the marketing of the Enterprise Zone.
Summerfield is responsible for the prestige Blackbrook office park at junction 25, Taunton, and has already successfully developed both Phases 1 and 2 of the Chelston Business Park at Wellington.
Senior Development Surveyor Ben Trickey commented: "Westpark 26 is an established business location in the heart of the South West. With such easy access to the region the location offers advantages both to local companies in Wellington and Taunton as well as those serving the South West peninsular from a truly central position.
