Compass Point

November 2008

Summerfield Homes are delighted to launch their exciting Compass Point Development in Compass Hill, which is just a short walk from the town centre. The development of 22 affordable apartments should be completed by early 2009 and prices have been set to reflect the economic situation recently experienced by us all, with prices ranging from £97,500 to £112,500.

‘The recent reduction in the Bank of England’s base rate to 4.5% looks set to make the apartments at Compass Point even better value for money with typical mortgage interest payments available from less than £500pcm in many cases. With typical monthly rents often in excess of this figure for similar properties now would appear to be a great time to get on the property ladder at Compass Point, Taunton’, says Simon Cutler.

Simon Cutler, Director of Invest Southwest Independent Financial Advisers in Taunton commented that recent research unveiled over 200 mortgage schemes available for borrowers who could raise a 10% deposit and even a couple of 95% mortgages for certain first time buyers.’

“This is an excellent scheme of affordable apartments and with the availability of finance, as mentioned by Simon, we are sure that this development should appeal to first time buyers” says Richard Nicol of Summerfield Homes.

Marc Richards, of the selling agents Gibbins Richards also stated that buyers should not underestimate the value for money on offer as he stressed that the quality of specification has not been compromised. “We welcome investment buyers and first time buyers alike to witness the quality on offer and are confident that they will be impressed by both the quality and convenience of location. There are various schemes our client may consider in attracting both types of buyer and we will be delighted to discuss these in more detail upon request.”
