Rob Hardy, site manager for Summerfield Homes at Millhayes, Hemyock, has won a Pride in the Job Award from NHBC the most respected award scheme in the house building industry.
Regional Director of the NHBC, Jim Lyons, visited Rob on site last week to congratulate him and present him with his certificate.
Rob, of Wiveliscombe, is now in the top two and a half per cent of site managers in the country and will be attending a dinner in Bournemouth in October to see if he will win a regional prize.
Four hundred site managers are chosen nationally from a total of 18,000 sites. The Pride in the Job scheme has been running for 27 years and judging takes all year. NHBC building inspectors cover 38 site-management activities looking for consistency, leadership, technical expertise, interpretation, health and safety and the special X factor.
Rob was congratulated by Mr Lyons, who went on to inspect the 13-cottage site at Hemyock. The first owners have just moved in and only two homes are left for sale. Summerfield Homes is planning another, larger development of 23 homes in the same village.
