Taunton based Summerfield Developments (SW) Limited, leading office park specialists, have celebrated a boom year.

And Chief Executive Richard Lloyd predicts more of the same for 2005. He said this week that the company is expecting another good year for business in the region. Summerfield has sold some 175,000 ft2 of office space on its three major parks in the South West, Blackbrook Business Park, Taunton, Woodwater Park, Exeter, and Turnpike Business Park at Chippenham.

Their Chelston Business Park at Wellington, Somerset, has also seen major expansion with all the 86,000 ft2 of phase two successfully sold.

Chelston Motor Homes recently bought another 25,000.ft2 unit to add to the 9,000 sq ft the company already occupied.

Blackbrook Business Park adjacent to the M5 at junction 25 continues its high profile expansion with more than 40,000 ft2 of offices sold or let in 2004 on Phase Two.

Phase One includes such high profile and prestigious clients as WPA, Clarke Willmott, Barclays Bank, National Westminster Bank, Booking Services International, the NFU and the Holiday Inn Express.

Custom built air conditioned offices have been sold in Phase Two to clients who include A C Mole, Knightstone Housing, Prowting Investments and Clerksroom, with leases taken by Somerset Care and Viridor.

Mr Lloyd said Summerfield were delighted with the steady stream of clients looking for spacious offices in landscaped grounds with generous car parking.

He said: ?Ease of access for clients is now very much a priority, and we can only see this trend continuing as firms want to escape from traffic congestion.?

Blackbrook?s Phase Two still has eight acres of land available for development.

Mr Lloyd said: ?I am delighted with Summerfield?s growth and progress over the past year. I really think our success bodes well for growth and employment across a significant number of business sectors in the South West over the coming year.?

On Summerfield?s Turnpike Business Park at Chippenham, Wincanton, PLc has bought a 65,000 ft 2of bespoke office building, following hard on the heels of a sale of 10,000 ft2 to Fleet Support.

And in Exeter regional solicitors Michelmores have moved into a contemporary 50,000 ft2 headquarters building, while regional building firm Midas Construction who have constructed many of the buildings on Summerfield?s business parks, bought 6,000 ft2 of prime office space for themselves.

Summerfield now has development land at Weston-super-Mare for up to 100,000 ft2 . Bespoke office park buildings will be available freehold or leasehold from 6,000 ft2 to 100,000 ft2. The site is adjacent to Junction 21 of the M5.
