Hats off to business expansion
Two south-west companies raised their hats to the start of a new £2m office development in Chippenham this week.
Work has started at Summerfield Developments' £2m office site at Methuen Park, Chippenham.
Bechtle Direct have already let the 8,200 sq ft offices in October in a ten-year deal.
The business, the UK arm of Bechtle AG, a German IT services company, will move to the Turnpike development when it is completed in the summer of 2012.
Managing director James Napp said: "Our business growth has consistently exceeded targets and the company needs to relocate to larger premises to help us meet future challenges."
The ten-year deal with Bechtle is the fourth and final stage of Taunton-based Summerfield Developments' offices at Methuen Park. The company's other buildings on the business park are already being occupied by Herman Miller, Wincanton Logistics and Fleet Support.
The property company has been active in the South West area since 1823 when it started from a traditional family construction business.
