Exeter's Greenest Office Design - It's Official!
Oxygen House breathes new life into Exeter Business Park with a top environmental award.
Innovative research company, ATASS Ltd has once again demonstrated a clear commitment to green policies. The company’s new headquarters has been awarded with an interim certificate at the highest official rating for an office in Exeter for its environmental credentials.
The building, currently being constructed at Exeter Business Park on J29 of the M5, has achieved a BREEAM Excellent rating at design stage.
The Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) scores buildings on all aspects, and applies a rating as to how environmentally friendly a building is.
The fittingly named Oxygen House was designed by architects Broadway Malyan to be as sustainable as possible, right from the initial concept and design brief. High on the company’s agenda was the need for their bespoke green headquarters to reach new heights of design and engineering feasibility in providing an environmentally friendly office. The building has been designed with its own micro electricity generation on site in the form of photovoltaic cells.
A host of other environmental features have been incorporated into the design to maximise energy efficiency, including the use of intelligent lighting systems and air source heat pumps. Rainwater will also be collected from the roof to be used in the building, minimising water usage.

The ATASS Group recently expanded its interests in renewables with the launch of ATASS Energy. The company is still looking for the last few eligible homeowners to become ‘Solar Hosts’. Hosts benefit from free periods of daytime electricity and pay nothing for the installation.
