Summerfield staff brave the dizzy heights of Debenhams
Two employees of Taunton-based developers Summerfield recently braved the dizzy heights of Debenham’s store roof and abseiled into Goodland Gardens for the benefit of St Margaret’s Hospice.
The event on 25th June, run by the St Margaret’s fund raising team and sponsored by local accountancy firm Milsted Langdon, saw receptionist Cathy Campbell and accountant Rob Smith lower themselves from the store roof to the ground. Mr Smith said "It was a shaky start, climbing over the wall at the edge of the roof onto a small wobbly plank suspended by ropes, but we made it to the bottom!"
They raised £275 in sponsorship from friends, family and colleagues, which Summerfield has doubled. Summerfield staff also elected to add the profits from the office charity snack box to the donation, making a grand total of over a thousand pounds to be donated to St Margaret’s Hospice.
