The plans show preliminary details of a proposed scheme for owner occupied, financially accessible discounted homes to be located on a site to the west of Stoke Road, adjoining the village of Henlade.

It is envisaged that the scheme will provide 48 homes with a mix of 2 bed houses, 3 bed houses and 2 bed flats, all to be provided for sale at a discounted price under Summerfield Developments’ My Homeaffordable home scheme.

OUTLINE PLANNING APPLICATION

The outline planning application plans show the location and size of the proposed residential site and the proposed means of access to the development.

All other matters relating to the detailed site layout and the design and external appearance of the dwellings will be reserved for consideration by the Local Authority as part of a future planning application.

ILLUSTRATIVE DESIGN

The illustrative site layout has been prepared to show how we would envisage the site being developed and the dwelling plans show the type of affordable accommodation that could be provided, if outline planning approval is granted.

The proposals show how a new access road, with full visibility for emerging traffic, can be provided from Stoke Road to serve the development.

The site layout is based on the concept of providing low energy / low carbon emission house designs with a large proportion of the houses facing directly south to benefit from passive solar gain and to allow the installation of efficient solar thermal panels for hot water provision

We envisage the provision of highly insulated timber framed dwellings with external timber cladding or render panels both of contemporary design for south facing, passive solar gain housing and of more traditional design for east / west facing properties. The dwellings may incorporate heat recovery ventilation and the provision of a renewable energy heating source will also be considered as part of the detailed design.
