Richard qualified as a Chartered Surveyor with Savills in London before moving to Bristol with King Sturge, concentrating on office agency. He joined Summerfield at its inception in 1987 and has been instrumental in Summerfield’s growth to become one of the major regional developers in the South West with an enviable reputation of delivering the right building at the right price. He has excellent contacts at senior level within the business community of the South West and is active in the Taunton Business Forum.

Chris has worked within the construction industry throughout his working life. His career in building contracting has taken him from the South East, to the West Country and the Channel Islands. He joined Summerfield in 1999 and now has responsibility for leading the New Homes team within Summerfield. He is also the director responsible for Health and Safety within the group.

Nigel has worked in commercial property for over twenty years. Having gained invaluable experience within all sectors of commercial property from Retail to Office and Industrial he quickly understood the balance between tenant and landlord or developer. This experience led him into development consultancy followed by Commercial Property Development within the South West and then in the Heathrow region of London prior to joining Summerfield in 2001. He has been instrumental in all Summerfield’s commercial development schemes since then, many of which have been designed to meet the specific requirements of the occupiers. Working closely with the whole Commercial team and in close liaison with clients he ensures that projects are delivered which match or exceed occupiers’ expectations.

Mark is a Chartered Accountant who qualified with KPMG in Cardiff. Having worked for KPMG for seven years he joined the Stansell Group in 1992 and soon became a member of the Summerfield team. He has headed the group finance function since 1999.

Tim qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in London in the late 1960s. He taught at Bristol Polytechnic/University of the West of England until 1988 as Course Director of the Estate Management Degree. He was on the Board of the College of Estate Management for 15 years and Chairman of the Education and Research Committee.
Tim was a Partner of King Sturge/Jones Lang LaSalle for 20 years, leading the public sector group and on the management executive for 8 years.
Tim is currently Chairman of Exeter College with a turnover of £30m and on the South West Regional Board of the National Trust.
In his spare time it's sailing in the summer, watching our great West Country rugby teams in the winter and always on Dartmoor with the dogs.

Colin has worked in construction and development for 40 years. He joined Summerfield upon its formation and has extensive experience of residential and commercial development.

Paul joined Summerfield in 2004 and is responsible for Project Management and delivery of Commercial Development Projects. Paul has over 30 years of property and construction industry related experience including senior positions with regional property development companies and consultants.

David began his career in the construction industry in Bristol in 1989 as a quantity surveyor for Gleeds before subsequently moving to Exeter in 1993. He has since worked for several of the large surveying companies including EC Harris, Nisbet and Franklin & Andrews on a variety of projects. He spent 3 years working overseas in the Caribbean on major social and infrastructure projects, returning to the UK in 2004. In 2007 he joined Summerfield and now has responsibility for cost management of all construction projects within the commercial department.

James has worked for the Group since 1992, starting on the construction side and moving across to property management in the late 90’s. He is responsible for all aspects of asset management for the Group's diverse property portfolio and business parks, and works with his team to achieve a professional and proactive department.

Phil started his career in property in Glasgow in 1993, moving to Bristol in 1996 as an agent for J Trevor & Webster and subsequently DTZ, before becoming a Partner at Donaldsons LLP in 2006 and returning to DTZ as a Director in 2007. Phil has also spoken as an expert on the South West property market on a number of occasions.

Ben followed a degree in Land Management at Reading University with a Land Agency role with Knight Frank (1994), before moving into commercial agency with first King Sturge in Bath (1998) and later Osmond Tricks in Bristol (2003).
In October 2005, Ben joined Summerfield and now has responsibility for all of Summerfield’s business parks alongside a role in strategic and asset management of the company’s property portfolio.

Simon has worked within the South West construction industry for over 20 years. His early career in building contracting provided a sound practical knowledge of the building industry. He joined Summerfield in 1999 as a Construction Manager and Simon now has responsibility for all construction related matters within the New Homes team at Summerfield.

Richard has been with Summerfield for ten years and is responsible for the sale and marketing of our residential properties. His role within the business also involves research and design development to continually improve the homes we build.
In his spare time he enjoys socialising, swimming, white water canoeing, surfing (the proper standing up stuff) and trying to master the art of golf (an impossible task, but he does enjoy the walk).

On leaving Sidcot School Richard picked up the tools with a leading Architectural practice in Bristol as a draughtsman. This was followed by 13 years building up a successful property orientated business in North Somerset and the surrounding area primarily concentrating on residential new homes and property investment and management with occasional forays into the office, industrial, retail and leisure sectors. During this time Richard met the ‘Mayor’s daughter’ Sarah; they were married in 2002 and are now the very proud parents of two beautiful daughters (Richard says he is not biased!). Richard was recruited to Summerfield in 2007 to co-ordinate the Land and Planning supply to the business and has relished the role in these very interesting times. Although now retired from playing rugby Richard is still a keen supporter and cricket fanatic, plays amateur club tennis, occasional golf and is a PADI diver. It is fair to say that Richard will ‘have a go’ at most sports and all to the same appalling standard!

Phil has been in the construction industry all his working life, initially with the regional builder and developer Stansell’s throughout the South West region and then in the Channel Islands. He joined Summerfield Developments in 1997 where he now has the responsibility for cost management within the residential team.
Phil is a keen rugby follower and has gone from playing for his local club to assisting with the mini and junior teams and being a member of the management committee with joint responsibility for special projects, such as the construction of a new two hundred seat stand and associated changing facilities.
